Maine Maritime Museum Cruises

The museum offers a number of different cruises throughout the year, designed to suit a variety of interests.

Their 1, 2 and 3 hour cruises offer an expanding journey to numerous points of interest. highlights include Bath Iron Works, lighthouses, coastal landmarks, and the wildlife-rich Sasanoa River.

Fans of lighthouses will enjoy the museum’s Lighthouse Lovers cruise, which visits up to ten historic riverfront lights and offshore beacons.

The Burnt Island Lighthouse Adventure is also recommended. This four-hour cruise takes you up the Sasanoa River to Burnt Island. Here you can explore nature trails, enjoy a picnic, and visit the 1821 lighthouse and keeper’s house.

Love seafood? Take the two-hour Oyster Tasting Cruise to learn about oyster farming, sample a dozen oysters on the half-shell with beer or wine.

Fall is just around the corner, and so are the museum’s two-hour Autumn Golden Hour Cruises.

In-person ticket sales for the cruises end 20 minutes prior to departure. Boarding begins 15 minutes prior to departure. Don’t be late, the boat won’t wait for you!

The Merrymeeting features a covered lower deck, an open upper deck, and is wheelchair-accessible, though the onboard restrooms are not. Cruises may be canceled due to severe weather or low ticket sales, with refunds or rescheduling offered.

Hungry? The Flight Deck Pizza & Beer Garden is open seasonally on campus, and a snack bar aboard carries light fare and beverages. Guests may also bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks.
