The River Room
With an expansive view of the Kennebec River, The River Room faces east and catches the very first of the morning rays. This spacious room has a king-sized bed, and a lovely sitting perch in the window — a nice place to take your morning coffee. A sitting area in front of the beautiful old brick decorative (non-operational) fireplace is a lovely place to sit and unwind at the end of a busy day. Bookcases line the walls in one corner of the room, offering a selection of poetry books, memoirs, travel books, and more for your reading pleasure. Two additional windows in the room and a ceiling fan above the bed create an airy space, and of course there’s window a/c for those who prefer it. We think of The River Room as a poet’s garret; it’s believed to have been servant’s quarters and is located up the back stairs of The Inn.
The private full bathroom has a tub/shower combination, a beautiful old wide pine board floor, and plenty of room for your personal bathing necessities. The River Room has a water view, king-sized bed and a private bath, air conditioning, wifi, and, of course, includes parking and complimentary farm-fresh breakfast.
The River Room combines nicely with The Loft, right across the hall, for guests traveling together.
